The happiness in Lourdes is a poem composed by Fr Michael who travelled with a group from County Limerick recently.
“It was Fr Michael’s first pilgrimage to Lourdes, he was in very good company with Eileen’s lovely group. A fitting reflection as we look back on these past months of the season when once again we had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful people from all over Ireland and the UK, sharing stories and experiences sprinkled with laughter and tears and where we witnessed so much faith in action,” explains Caroline Trainor, from the Joe Walsh Tours team in Lourdes.

Here we are in Lourdes
What a happy crew
Eileen brought us here
And our friendship grew
Praying and laughing
All the whole day through
John our guide
Showing us the way
Walking through Lourdes
Every single day
Keeping us together
Come what may
Pat has got a story
Funny as can be
Once he starts the talking
We all laugh with glee
One more little story
That’s the way it should be
Wonderful Doni
Always full of cheer
With a smile and laughter
Making friends so dear
Good times all together
That’s why we’re all here
Lovely ladies smiling
Lovely ladies too
Gentlemen beside them
What a wonderful crew
Walking, praying, laughing
What a happy view
We came here as pilgrims
With our hearts in prayer
Found a lot of friendship
Found some love to share
At the Grotto together
Feeling Mary’s care
When we leave Lourdes
Memories remain
Songs and jokes and laughter
Sunshine after rain
All the friends we made here
We’ll remember again
Thank you, dear Eileen
Thank you, John, our guide
Thank you lovely ladies and Gentlemen
May Our joy abide
Don’t worry
Be happy
